Our Story
Gathering Fire exists because of our passion for the outdoors and natural world. Our experience originates in the tranquil lakes and mountains of Upstate New York’s Adirondack Mountains. There, in the eastern woodlands, we tempered our knowledge and skills learning from a variety of mentors and people. Our curiosity has taken us across the United States and throughout the globe. Our knowledge is informed by a variety of disciplines and influences. We embrace lessons from traditional lifeways, modern wilderness living, and contemporary high adventure among others.
Inspired by the trans-cultural significance of fire, Hunter wanted to create a medium to protect the flow of knowledge. Our outdoor adventure and bushcraft blog keeps the communal fire ablaze. We continue to learn, explore and grow. We welcome you to our gathering fire.
