Alaska Dall Sheep hunting is one of the most challenging and adventurous hunts in the world. Seasoned hunters endure extreme conditions in pursuit of the elusive Dall Sheep.
This past August I had the opportunity to go on a DIY Alaska Dall Sheep hunt in interior Alaska. My buddy and I had a great adventure and learned a lot in the process.

Despite not successfully harvesting a dall sheep ram, we both appreciated the opportunity to experience Alaska’s wild landscape. We look forward to the next Alaskan adventure.
Weather certainly plays a role in any Alaskan hunt and this trip was no exception. While we managed to have a few days of moderate weather, our trip ended with a relentless rain. This weather system created a ceiling that obscured glassing opportunities. Moreover, the precipitation drastically altered the drainage system creating dangerous water crossing opportunities.

With this, we decided to pack up earlier to ensure a safe return over our designated water crossings. We had a few close calls on the trek out but played it safe and made it back alright.
Overall, we were gracious to at least glass up some Ews and Lambs and to peak mountains few can comprehend. Alaska will always impress.
